NASA Chief Nelson Affirms Russia and U.S. Get Along Better in Space Than on Earth

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson told reporters on May 28 he will be attending the June 14-16 Global Space Exploration Conference (GLEX2021) in St. Petersburg, Russia, a regular event for the space community cosponsored by Roscosmos and the International Astronautical Federation. This year’s event takes place on the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s first human spaceflight.

Nelson will be on a panel where there will be a chance to engage with Dimitry Rogozin, the director of Russia’s space agency Roscosmos. “Yes I am planning to do that virtually and I look forward to that. I understand that I will be on a panel,” he said. The same day Rogozin had invited Nelson to visit Russia and said he was ready to discuss all aspects of cooperation in space with him, reported TASS.
