In an interview with former Trump Deputy National Security Adviser Matthew Pottinger, NBC’s Chuck Todd did his best to add fuel to the story of the “Wuhan Lab Leak.”
Todd opened the interview with a quote from a prior interview with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who was shown stating that “China knew from the beginning that they didn’t do what they needed to do — in real time — provide access to international experts; in real time — to share information.…”
Todd began by stating that his premise was that “there’s a collective agreement that China has not told the full story,” and asked Pottinger what he thought the intelligence community could do to shed some light on the origins of the coronavirus. Pottinger responded that he thought the initiative could promote bipartisan cooperation on the issue, and that “a lot could be discovered within 90 days.” He explained that even if they don’t come up with a definitive answer, the investigation itself will create an environment for scientists around the world to come forward, especially those “frightened of being shut down by the Twitter mob.”
