The Economist: Covid Deaths Triple the Reported Number

The Economist has conducted a study of “excess deaths” (the number of deaths over the average in earlier years during a certain period) during the COVID-19 pandemic, issuing a report claiming that the number of deaths from the virus are actually three or four times the officially reported number. Keeping in mind that The Economist is one of the premier publications of the British Empire’s inner elite, and that the study was done by extrapolating data which is not available in many countries, and “modeling” the figures, it is nonetheless worth considering that the results may be close to the truth. The report observes that the poorer countries with weak health systems do far less testing, and often get overwhelmed when the number of deaths spikes, as in India now. They estimate that the 3 million deaths reported worldwide at this point are more likely in the 7-13 million range.

Adding to the possibility of false reporting, the report claims that Russia has intentionally misreported by a factor of five in order to mislead the world.

The weekly writes that some countries, naming Australia, New Zealand and Norway, have a deficit of excess deaths, explaining that the masking and social distancing had resulted in greatly reduced flu deaths, even greater than the Covid deaths.
