During three appearances on major talk shows Sunday morning, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan was never asked a question about the communiqué of Presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin which asserted, “Today, we reaffirm the principle that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.” In fact, through interviews with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, Fox News’ Chris Wallace, and CNN’s Dana Bash (who also drew questions from Washington Post editorials), Sullivan was exclusively asked questions of the “Why haven’t you killed anybody recently?” variety, regarding Russia, Ukraine, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, China, Iran, QAnon, etc. Consequently he uttered meaningless things like, “President Biden went into that summit, and came out of it, as the leader of the free world,” etc.
