U.S. Ballistic Missile Sub Makes Conspicuous Port Call in Gibraltar

An Ohio-class nuclear ballistic missile submarine, the USS Alaska, made a port call in Gibraltar yesterday for what the US Navy said was a “brief stop” that “strengthens cooperation between the United States and the United Kingdom-Gibraltar, and demonstrates U.S. capability, readiness, flexibility, and continuing commitment as part of NATO.”
