Is Your Country Safe with High Vaccination Rates with a Top-of-the-Line Vaccine?

The Pfizer COVD-19 vaccine has maintained high levels of efficacy against all variants so far, but now evidence is emerging whereby its efficacy against infection by the Delta variant is around 64%. Israel, with a relatively high level of vaccination, and with the mRNA Pfizer vaccine, reports the Delta variant to comprise now 90% of their new cases. Pfizer efficacy against severe illness dropped only from 97% to 93%, but their severe cases have more than tripled, from 21 to 70 cases. Up to now, the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) had not seen decreases in efficacy of more than 5-10%. Israel is looking into a third shot, a booster shot; the coronavirus is looking for more breeding grounds for new variants.
