The flagship of Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2) entered the Black Sea on July 1 with two more Alliance warships set to join the Sea Breeze exercises that started earlier this week, NATO announced.
Italian Frigate ITS Virginio Fasan (F 591) passed through the Bosporus headed for the Black Sea together with a Turkish frigate and will join with a Romanian warship, according to ship spotters in Turkey.” During Fasan’s deployment in the Black Sea, and after the joining of TCG Barbaros and ROS Regina Maria, SNMG2 will participate in bilateral U.S.-Ukraine exercise Sea Breeze,” reads a statement from NATO.
