Whereas regime propaganda attributes wildfires that are devastating Mediterranean countries to “climate change,” Italian “Green Transition” Minister Roberto Cingolani confirmed that “70% of wildfires are caused by arsonists or sometime by distraction” — with over 57% due to arson alone. This is all the more important as Cingolani is a supporter of climate transition.
Cingolani did not say that arson in Sicily and Sardinia is believed to be caused by his climate transition scheme. But Sicily Anti-Mafia Committee head Claudio Fava recently accused mafia groups of causing wildfires to produce wasteland areas eligible to host huge solar or wind parks as demanded by the EU Green Deal.
Cingolani endorsed the new IPCC report and said that “it is very important to work in this decade to prevent global warming from growing beyond the 1.5°.” However, Cingolani acknowledged that the Green Transition/Great Reset strategy is in trouble: “There are major and complex geopolitical issues at stake. We have seen it at the recent G20 in Naples.... A single country commitment is not enough. We need a global effort, but in order to achieve it, it is necessary to have clear criteria for distribution of sacrifices, which are not clear at all now. For instance, today countries with billions of population would like to consider emissions per capita, which are very low in their case, and not total ones.” Cingolani is referring to India, which advanced that proposal at the July 22-23 G20 Energy Ministerial in Naples.
