The daily new cases of COVID-19 infections in China fell to only six (6) on Monday, Aug. 16. A week earlier there had been 108 new daily cases, but China continues with its total warfare approach to the disease. As Xinhua reported, “With massive nucleic acid testing, accelerated vaccination, closed-loop management, and travel restrictions in place, China has seen an apparent downward trend in new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases.” The 4.6 million inhabitants of Yangzhou City were the latest case where massive nucleic acid testing was carried out on the entire population.
