Czech President Milos Zeman has said that NATO has failed, referring to Afghanistan, and has questioned its legitimacy. He said his country should focus on national defense and quit wasting money. “The distrust towards NATO from a number of member countries will grow after this experience, because they will say – if you failed in Afghanistan, where is a guarantee that you won’t fail in any other critical situation?” Zeman demanded in an interview on Aug. 3 published by www.parlamentnilisty.cz .
