Over 30 leading business associations in the U.S. signed a letter to President Biden, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai, seeking an end to the tariffs imposed on China by the Trump Administration, and for reopening trade talks with China to encourage more Chinese purchases in the U.S. and more opening up of their economy. The groups included the Chamber of Commerce, the Business Roundtable and many associations representing electronics, farming, retailers, manufacturing, etc. The letter, dated Aug. 5, called for “swift action” to address “burdensome” tariffs.
