As reported by Euronews, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) has reported that 15% of the working poor cannot afford heating. The reason is the price increase of gas and electricity combined with the difficulties resulting from job loss in the Covid-19 crisis. ETUC said Cyprus has the highest percentage of working poor (45.6%) who can’t afford heating, ahead of Bulgaria, Lithuania, Portugal, Greece, and Italy.
