China: Over 2.1 Billion Vaccine Doses Administered

Global Times reported that over 2.1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered across China as of Sept. 4. On August 23, China reported no new locally transmitted cases of COVID-19 for the first time since July. The next day, it reported 20 new cases, and no new deaths. From January 3, 2020 to September 3, 2021, there have been 123,136 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 5,685 deaths in China, as reported to the World Health Organization.In contrast, the United States has had 40,765,356 confirmed cases and 665,858 (through Sept. 4), according to worldodometers.info.
