Draghi Meets Macron To Rescue Shaky G20 Meeting on Afghanistan

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi will meet French President Emmanuel Macron Sept. 2 in Marseille, to discuss the agenda of the coming extraordinary G20 on Afghanistan sponsored by Italy. After the failure of the French-U.K. draft resolution on “safe zones” at the UN Security Council, Russian critics of the agenda and the failed agreement of EU interior ministers on a EU-led “humanitarian corridors” scheme, the G20 is threatened with a flop.
