U.S. Deaths Relentlessly Following Rise in Cases: Time To Pay the Piper

U.S. deaths from COVID-19 reached nearly 3,000 on Sept. 2, a level not seen in over six months (since Feb. 24). The 7-day average now exceeds 1,500, nearly half the peak level, which had been reached in January, when less than 1% of Americans were fully vaccinated. With the number of daily cases continuing to rise, the number of deaths can be expected to follow.
