Where U.S. Retail Workers Have Gone – to Pot

There is constant questioning about why many U.S. economic sectors seem to have labor shortages while 11 million people are still getting unemployment benefits of some kind, and it is clear from Labor Department data that perhaps three quarters of these 11 million have been either retail service employees or informal “gig” employees. No national missions or programs of productive employment have been launched in more than 18 months of pandemic economic collapse and disruptions.
