Countdown to Halloween, and the COP26 Ghouls Are in Trouble

The latest on COP26, opening day on Halloween, Oct. 31, is more moaning and groaning from London that the countdown ain’t going well. Only 11 of the G20 nations have submitted their national carbon reduction plans to COP26, with less than two weeks to go. It appears that President Xi Jinping will not attend; and President Vladimir Putin, as of earlier this weekend, had not said he will attend. Latest is, however, that Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison now says he will come; maybe the Queen’s irk had an impact in the Commonwealth? One affirmative RSVP is from Barack Obama, who said this weekend, he intends to rally the youth for the green fight. Greta Thunberg, however, expressed at a Saturday event her expectation that not much will happen in Glasgow, so everyone must plan to “keep on pushing.”
