Die Welt Publishes Open Letter Urging To Suspend Germany’s ‘Energiewende’

The German liberal-conservative daily Die Welt has published an open letter by an international group of “environmentalists” that argues for keeping nuclear power stations on the grid. The argument used in the letter is that decommissioning the remaining six nuclear power plants means more coal-fired energy and Germany failing the target of climate neutrality.

The letter, addressed “to all Germans,” says: “You can still achieve your climate target for 2030. You can still make a turn and change your priorities so that the exit from coal comes before the exit from nuclear power. All you need is a climate emergency law that changes the Nuclear Power Act and sets the life of power stations back to 2030-2036.” (https://www.welt.de/debatte/kommentare/article234364140/Offener-Brief-Liebes-Deutschland-bitte-lass-die-Kernkraftwerke-am-Netz.html)
