UN Pressure Still on U.S. for Biden's Green New Deal

Bloomberg News reported Oct 26 on the last-ditch pre-Hallowe’en report by the UN, which says that nations’ anti-carbon policies are sadly lacking, that the world is on a path to reaching 2.7 degrees C above the 19th-Century level; BUT they can still focus at the last moment on three things. The desperation document is called the 12th UN Environment Program Emissions Gap Report, and recalls that the UN “Ambassador” for climate matters is Prince Charles’s favorite banker, Mark “zero carbon” Carney.

These “three things” seem aimed rather deliberately at United States politics, and inclusively at giving Democrats and environmentalist NGOs ammunition. First, the report says, in Bloomberg’s account, “link post-pandemic fiscal recovery to curbing emissions.” That sounds like, pass President Joe Biden’s monster bill with the Clean Energy Performance Program and the Clean Energy Standard Act still in it. The fighting in Congress over resistance to this bill and its Malthusian Green New Deal programs is going hot and heavy right up to Biden’s heading off to the heath to meet the Weird Sisters.
