Yet Another Air Strike Attributed to Israel Hits Syria

The Syrian military reported this morning that one Syrian soldier was killed and three others wounded in what it said was an Israeli air strike in the Palmyra area, late Wednesday night (Oct. 13). A military source told SANA that the strike targeted a telecommunications tower and some adjacent areas, and came from the direction of Al Tanf, the illegal US military base near the borders with Iraq and Jordan.

A few hours later, a coordinating center operated by the Syrian Army, Lebanese Hezbollah, and advisors from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, calling itself the Allied Operations Room of Syria, issued a statement vowing retaliatory action against Israel for the strike. “For years, we have been subjected to attacks from the Israeli and American enemy in an attempt to drag us into side battles that were not a priority for our presence in Syria. The Zionists’ excuse [for the attacks] was that they were targeting precision weapons and sensitive equipment that posed a threat to their usurping entity,” the statement said, reported Sputnik.
