$70 Billion in Trade Deals Inked at China Expo

The fourth China International Import Expo in Shanghai concluded today with deals totaling over $70 billions signed between Chinese and international companies. Some 3,000 businesses from 127 countries were at the Expo to exhibit their wares and to negotiate deals with their Chinese counterparts. Altogether 422 new products, technologies and services were included in this year’s Expo with 281 companies participating. Many of the major Fortune 500 companies were involved, but so also were smaller companies and many from the developing countries. There were also 40 newcomers to the Expo this year and the Expo maintains 80% retention of participants.
