Concerning the overall issues opposing Poland to Belarus, the website of the Franco-Russian alliance association, one of the two groupings in France working alongside the Russian government to improve Franco-Russian relations, yesterday ran a video clip from former French military veteran and today a leader of a Russia-based website called Stratpol, Xavier Moreau. He had the following to report on the broader issues involved in this conflict.
On the broader causes, Moreau reaffirmed after Putin and others that the crisis was caused by the Western wars in Southwest Asia, and recalled the special role Poland played in those wars. The main contingent of immigrants arriving to Belarus come from Iraq, Syria, and Yemen, and Poland played an important rôle in the war against Iraq. With 2,000 soldiers, the Polish contingent was the fourth-largest in that war, which won Poland the right to be granted a special occupation zone in the country, a situation that lasted until 2008 ! Poland is paying today the price of joining that neo-colonial war!
