The Economist’s Worst Fear, A ‘Popular Revolt Against Climate Policies’

In an Oct. 16 article, well before the Halloween festivities began in Glasgow, The Economist revealed its fears that all might not go as planned in Glasgow, especially as there was already a panic underway due to energy shortages, high prices, fears of no heat for the winter, etc. “There are grave problems with the transition to clean energy power” it intoned. And, as the world shifts to cleaner energy, deeper problems are emerging, such as inadequate investment in renewables and some transition fossil fuels, “rising geopolitical risks and flimsy safety buffers in power markets. Without rapid reforms, there will be more energy crises and, perhaps, a popular revolt against climate policies.” The horror!
