The Radical Party-associated “Associazione Luca Coscioni” has filed enough signatures to promote two popular referenda in Italy, one on the legalization of eutanasia and another one on the legalization of cannabis. The referenda must now be approved by the Constitutional Court.
Former UN anti-drug czar and Schiller Institute friend Pino Arlacchi blasted the cannabis referendum as “the most delirious one in the last thirty years” in an article in Il Fatto Quotidiano. “over six hundred thousand Italian citizens have been cheated,” Arlacchi wrote, referring to the number of signatures collected.
