Russia Extends Some Military Exercises; Putin, Lukashenko Reviewed Nuclear-Capable Drills Feb. 19

Russia and Belarus are extending joint military exercises that were due to end today, called “Union Resolve.” This was announced today by Belarus Defense Minister Viktar Khrenin, who said in a statement that the decision had been taken “in connection with the increase in military activity near the external borders” of Russia and Belarus, and because of rising tension in eastern Ukraine.

This extension is now cited by Western warmongering specialists as “proof” of an imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine, based on the logic of, “see, I told you so.”

On Feb. 19, President Putin and Belarus President Lukashenko reviewed successful major triad, nuclear-capable drills, involving missile launching from air, submarine and land. According to the Kremlin release, military equipment and personnel of the Aerospace Forces, Southern Military District, Strategic Missile Forces, Northern and Black Sea fleets were engaged in the exercise.
