Congress Tells the Uninsured ‘Drop Dead’!

On March 2, the White House asked Congress for another $22.5 billion in funding for COVID-19 testing, vaccines, and treatments, and last week, the Congress nixed a reduced $15 billion in COVID-19 relief for Americans. The White House Fact Sheet details the lethal effects of the cuts, which includes the stoppage of financial support to the uninsured to receive vaccinations or care; halting critical testing, vaccine, and treatment efforts, and reducing the ability to rapidly identify and assess emerging variants, among other consequences.
