The Russian foreign minister had unprecedentedly harsh words for Germany, in an interview with Al Jazeera TV yesterday: “Shocked, I listen to comments by European politicians, especially German ones. My colleague Annalena Baerbock says that in view of its historical responsibility, Germany feels obliged to supply Ukraine with weapons. How is this to be understood? That historical guilt and its recognition require Germany to support neo-Nazis? That evokes somewhat strange thoughts. EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen claims that the EU and Ukraine are now much closer than ever before. What is she alluding to? Isn’t it a signal that as long as you are a Russophobe, as long as you are a fascist, as long as you are a neo-Nazi, you are allowed to do anything?”
