On the March 28, Monday night Hannity program on Fox News, while commenting on President Joe Biden’s statement the Putin “cannot remain in office,” host Sean Hannity called Vladimir Putin a “brutal thug, dictator, with blood on his hands,” who is responsible for “killing men, women and children,” and then declared: “That would mean, according to the Hannity Doctrine, you would forfeit your right to lead any country, and frankly, you would forfeit your right to even live.”
In Italy, the Russian Ambassador has brought suit against La Stampa for publishing a call for the assassination of President Vladimir Putin. In the U.S., such calls for violence (let alone for assassination) are regularly censored from the media — unless it is against supposed “enemies.”
