Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu emphasized in an interview with Hurriyet Daily News that Turkey is trying to organize a trilateral meeting of Putin and Zelenskyy with Erdogan in Turkey. “If peace is achieved, they [Putin and Zelenskyy] will definitely meet,” he said, pointing out that the Ukrainian and Russian leaders “do not rule out such a possibility.”

“As of today, we see that fundamentally none of the sides is against [a meeting in Turkey]. Some other countries are also undertaking efforts to organize [their meeting], though we are glad to accept them in Turkey. At the end of the day, it is important for them to meet, be it in Turkey or in another country,” the minister said. Ankara “wants to hold this trilateral meeting” that would include Erdogan’s participation, Cavusoglu said.
