Thomas Röper, an expert for Eastern Europe and Russia who publishes the “anti-spiegel” blog from St. Petersburg, just wrote:
“It is a tradition that every year Russia introduces a resolution to the UN entitled “To combat the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to the escalation of contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.” It recommends that all UN member states take necessary measures, in accordance with their international human rights obligations, to prevent the revision of the results of World War II and the denial of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed during World War II, and to eradicate all forms of racial discrimination.
