White House: If China Breaks Anti-Russia Sanctions, China Will Be Hit, Too

Reporters questioned White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki on Monday about what steps were being taken to get the Chinese to uphold the economic blockade against Russia. Psaki tried to portray China as being cooperative, with such steps as only abstaining on the U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Russia. She asserted that “they have implemented the sanctions.” But, she threatened: “This is not a moment to be on the sidelines. This is a moment to be vocal…. Again, they have implemented the sanctions. If they don’t do that, then we obviously have steps we can take.”
