President Biden, possibly judging that accusing Vladimir Putin of “war crimes” wasn’t a serious enough charge, escalated his rhetoric yesterday, charging Putin with the commission of “genocide,” by means of “explaining” the inflation in Americans’ energy costs. In Menlo, Iowa, Biden ranted: “Your family budget, your ability to fill up your tank, none of it should hinge on whether a dictator declares war and commits genocide half a world away.”
With rampant inflation, and consumers facing hard-to-swallow increases for both food and energy, President Biden was sent to Menlo, Iowa – where a plant converts corn into bioethanol – to present his policy of somehow lowering energy costs by burning food in the form of ethanol. He did not explain how this would not create food shortages and more price hikes, but he did attempt to put all the blame on Putin, adding on the new charge of “genocide.”
