Blinken Argues Ukraine War Makes Decarbonization ‘Imperative’

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken informed Europeans while in Brussels that the Ukraine-Russia conflict means they must return to a backward windmill/solar panel-powered society, sooner rather than later. In his April 7 press conference in Brussels, he pronounced in Brussels that ending Europe’s dependence on Russian energy “tells us how imperative it is that we accelerate the transition to renewables. And we can … Europe can make a virtue out of necessity not only by moving away from Russian energy, from Russian gas and oil, but moving toward sustainable energy and toward renewables.” That process, he admitted, might “take time.”
