Speaking on Fox News’s Hannity show last night, former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), charged that the Department of Homeland Security’s newly-created “Disinformation Governance Board,” announced by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, was tantamount to a “department of propaganda” not unlike the Ministry of Truth described in George Orwell’s 1984 novel. In a tweet issued today, Newsweek reported, she elaborated, that “every dictatorship has a propaganda arm, a `Ministry of Truth.’ The Biden administration has now formally joined the ranks of such dictatorships with their creation of the so-called “Disinformation Governance Board.” DHS explained that the new entity intends to counter disinformation coming from Russia and about the U.S.-Mexican border.
