U.S. Moves To Oust Russia from the UN Human Rights Commission

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield told National Public Radio (NPR) that the United States plans holding a session of the UN General Assembly to discuss ousting Russia from the UN Human Rights Council as soon as on Thursday, April 7. White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told the press that President Biden had instructed Thomas-Greenfield to that effect. Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia stated: “This is unprecedented. And this will not facilitate or encourage or be helpful to what is happening between Russian and Ukrainian peace talks.”
