Israeli police carried out a violent police raid into the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem at dawn on Friday morning, April 15, during the holy month of Ramadan, followed by a second, smaller raid this morning, nominally in the name of cracking down on a small group of Palestinian radicals stockpiling and/or throwing rocks at the Mosque. The Palestinian radicals present, in turn, had done so in response to the public offer by a small, right-wing Israeli extremist group calling itself “Returning to the Mount” to pay bounties to any Jew who performs ritual sacrifices at the Al-Aqsa site during the Ramadan-Passover religious holidays.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam, built on a hilltop in Jerusalem’s Old City called Temple Mount by Jews, for whom it their most sacred site, because it was the site of the Jerusalem Temple, twice built, in antiquity. The Jerusalem Temple is the only place Jews can perform ritual sacrifice, hence its degree of holiness. This news service warned decades ago, that extremist operations to destroy the Muslim mosque and set up the Jewish Temple—a guaranteed trigger for unending religious war—were run by the highest level of the British oligarchy top-down, by the most lunatic elements within the highest levels of British Freemasonry—with the blessing and involvement of members of the House of Windsor. As the oligarchic system breaks down worldwide, the only party which could gain from lighting such dangerous tinder is the same, Anglo-American oligarchic networks behind Global NATO’s drive to eliminate all sovereign nation-states in their desperate attempt to save their system. Neither Muslims nor Jews, Israel or Palestine can benefit from such provocations.
The situation is grave. In Friday’s attack, the Israeli police attacked worshippers with rubber bullets, tear gas and live ammunition, beat worshippers inside the Mosque and journalists outside, and arrested more than 450 people. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that they treated dozens of other injuries at the site, but over 150 Palestinians were so badly injured that they had to be taken to nearby hospitals. The police also smashed historic, handcrafted stained-glass windows in this Mosque, reportedly so that Israeli snipers could take up firing positions. Seventeen more Palestinians were wounded in today’s raid, five of them requiring hospitalization, according to the Red Crescent.
Israeli police raids into the Mosque during Ramadan last year were key to triggering such outrage that Israel and Gaza quickly ended up in an 11-day war.
