President Joe Biden told reporters today he has decided not to send long-range rocket systems to Ukraine capable of striking Russia. “We’re not going to send to Ukraine rocket systems that strike into Russia,” Biden said after arriving back at the White House after a weekend in Delaware. Biden did not rule out providing any specific weapons system, but, speculated Reuters, instead appeared to be placing conditions on how they could be used.
“Biden has said the United States will not send Ukraine rocket systems that can reach into Russia. That’s reasonable,” Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council said on his Telegram channel in response, reported TASS. “Otherwise, in case of strikes against our cities Russia’s armed forces would act on the warning to attack the centers where such criminal decisions are made. Some of them are certainly not in Kyiv. No explanations necessary…” Medvedev wrote.
