The House of Representatives voted 368-57 yesterday to approve President Joe Biden’s request for more funding for Ukraine, inflating his original $33 billion proposal up to a hefty $40 billion. The bill now goes to the Senate, where it is widely expected to pass with robust bipartisan support, reported Defense News.

The bill includes $11 billion in presidential drawdown authority by which Biden can transfer U.S. military equipment directly to Ukraine, $8.7 billion to backfill U.S. military stocks to replace weapons that have already been sent to Ukraine, $6 billion for the Pentagon’s Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative and $3.9 billion to cover the expenses of the expanded U.S. military presence in Eastern Europe.
