UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Arrives in China and Will Visit Xinjiang

Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, has arrived in China and held discussions today with Chinese Foreign Minister and State Councilor Wang Yi. Bachelet came to visit Xinjiang and to report back to the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva on conditions there. The visit has been a long time coming although the invitation has been outstanding for quite some time.

The U.S. State Department was adamantly opposed to the visit, claiming that it will simply be a China-controlled tour which will not allow Bachelet to witness the “abuses” widely reported in the lying Western press. The State Department has also warned that if her report does not cover the “abuses,” they will denounce it.
