Chinese Investment in Australia at Lowest Level in 15 Years

For 2021, Chinese companies invested a meager US$ 585 million in Australia, far down from the peak level of US$ 16.2 billion reached in 2008, reports The Straits Times. Investment levels began to plunge five years ago, with commercial prohibitions on Huawei, and with Australia increasingly joining in on geopolitical attacks on China.
