Huge Increase in Generator Sales in Iowa—a Fool’s Errand

In recent days Iowans have been warned they may see rolling blackouts this summer, as the NOAA predicts above-average temperatures, and while demand increases and supply decreases. Iowa and Kansas have been the biggest U.S. suckers for solar and wind; and as the LaRouche movement foretold almost 50 years ago, they are paying for their folly. “A typical price range for a whole home generator installed with everything you need, start to finish, including gas lines, is anywhere from $8,000 to $10,000 installed,” said one supplier—but neither he nor anyone else dares to bring up the “sky’s the limit” price increases of natural gas, propane, gasoline or diesel to power the generators—which will mean you will “have the freedom” to decide your own blackouts.
