Reconstruction of Donbass May Benefit from Newly Appointed D.P.R. Prime Minister

Donetsk People’s Republic head Denis Pushilin has appointed Vitaly Hotsenko as prime minister. The relevant decree of the D.P.R. head was published on his website on June 8, after the current government was dismissed earlier that day. Hotsenko was born in Dnipro, Ukraine.

Prior to his appointment, Hotsenko held the post of the director of the department of regional industry policy and project management at the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry. He is seen as a strong proponent of industrial development. Much of the industry, particularly heavy industry, is idle in Donbass—not destroyed by war, but by the EU conditionalities imposed on Ukraine since 1991.
