China had a record trade surplus in May of US $78.76 billion, compared with $43.28 billion in May 2021, and $51.12 in April this year. The forecast had been for $58 billion. According to data published by the Customs Administration, exports grew 16.9% while imports also grew 4.1%. Both figures are beyond expectations.
