In May, India purchased an average of 819,000 bpd of oil from Russia, a near tripling from the April level of 277,000 bpd. According to Reuters, Iraq is still India’s largest oil supplier, while Saudi Arabia, which was previously the second biggest, has dropped to third place behind Russia. India’s total oil imports in May were about 5 million bpd, which means Russia is now providing about 17% of that total.
