Advance Humanity’s Cause—Widen the Sanctions Breach!

Today, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, author of the speech “Gandhi’s Vision for a New Paradigm in International Relations, a World Health System, and Direct Non-Violent Action in Times of Social Breakdown,” will offer a strategic evaluation and remarks, addressing a Schiller Institute webcast, on July 23 at 2 p.m. EDT, in response to the breakthrough against the self-destructive and immoral policy of “war by sanctions” that occurred Friday, July 22 in Istanbul, Turkey. This breakthrough, a signed four-way agreement to finally allow shipments of grain from the Black Sea, was in part in response to the pleas, admonitions and bulletins issued by the United Nations World Food Program head David Beasley and many others. The agreement was signed by the United Nations, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia. Now that a challenge to, though not a reversal of, the murderous sanctions policy has begun in the area of world food security, that flank must be exploited to roll back sanctions against Venezuela, Afghanistan, Iran and other nations, to end the decades of Malthusian war-fighting against the developing sector in the name of “campaigning for human rights.”

Three days earlier, Zepp-LaRouche had issued the statement, “Lift Sanctions Against Russia Immediately!” which calls for far more sweeping measures than that which just happily occurred in Istanbul. Zepp-LaRouche asserted that “Sanctions are not the just retribution by the morally superior ‘democracies’ for the crimes of ‘autocracies’; they are a brutal form of warfare against the respective populations of the sanctioned states with the aim of making their living conditions so intolerable that they rise up against their respective leaderships, and overthrow them. But the victims are always the people, no matter whether they be in Russia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Ukraine, or Germany!"’

Yesterday’s Istanbul agreement to allow for the shipment of wheat, fertilizer and other foodstuffs out of the Black Sea to the world, was a public acknowledgment that humanity must come first, and therefore, that the “war sanctions” policy of the Anglosphere against the nation of Russia cannot be allowed to stand in the way of human survival. Note that the measures negotiated also stipulated that Russian grain and food exports could not be impeded from export. This constitutes an important moral defeat for the Malthusian enemies of humanity, but not yet a victory over their broader design.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent characterization of the “golden billion” and their attempt to impose their rule on the planet as a whole, reveals the same intent that various documents—the 1970s National Security Study Memorandum 200, the late-’70s/early-’80s Global 2000 Report, and the variously guised “climate change” apologies for depopulation of the past thirty years—also reveal. For the scheme to succeed, in the Anglosphere’s own mass reduction of population, through mass famine, mass disease spread, and mass death through war, including thermonuclear war, must now become, not only thinkable, but practiced. The results of promulgating for decades a culture of murder and death, through various forms of “entertainment,” are being expressed in the now-daily, sometimes multiple-times-a-day shootings now spreading beyond the United States to other parts of the Anglospere; this is the cultural “orphan child” outcome of this depopulation commitment, and will never stop until that Satanic commitment is reversed. Mercy must season justice, and rule, or mercilessness must season injustice, and rule.

Ironically, it is within the bosom of the “golden billion,” and their bizarre social contracts, that the murder culture has taken greatest hold. In contrast to this, however, Zepp-LaRouche points out that “the rest of the world isn’t so stupid, ... they realize it’s all about maintaining an ultimately still-colonial world order that defends the privileges of billionaires and millionaires at the expense of the majority of the human species. The acting President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, has condemned the sanctions against Russia, saying that their ultimate goal is to tumble the Third World into the abyss and force it to its knees.”

Looked at from the longer arc of the history of the past 100 years, nations such as China, Russia, and certain other emerging nations, are now positioned for the first time since the August 1971 dismantling of the Bretton Woods system, to do something of durable worth about economic injustice in the world. It must, however, involve the United States—the real United States. It is time to join the legitimate aspirations of the Bandung Conference of 1955, with the true intent of Franklin Roosevelt’s “New Deal” 20th century adaptation of Alexander Hamilton’s economic system, a system partially designed by FDR’s ancestor, Isaac Roosevelt, one of Hamilton’s closest collaborators during and after the American Revolution. For the 21st century, it is the New Bretton Woods ideas of Lyndon LaRouche, expressed in the World Land-Bridge, and the re-enactment of FDR’s Glass-Steagall Act, that creates the “New Paradigm in International Relations.”

Understanding how the world actually works now requires the study of the economic and philosophical writings of Lyndon LaRouche. Consider, for example, this very short excerpt, which was stated by LaRouche in 1976: “To win the ultimate result, defeat of the Atlanticists’ fascist forces, it is essential to develop a winning strategic position through the intermediation of a succession of ostensibly ill-defined and small positional-deployment gains. These gains are not actually ill-defined, but merely appear to be vague and inconclusive to the person lacking the appropriate methodological competence.” Compare, for example, the recent fate of the far more powerful “sanctions-wielding leadership” of the Anglosphere, with that of Russia. Look at Boris Johnson; Mario Draghi; Macron; Scholz. Look at Biden’s trip to Israel and Saudi Arabia, how “the most powerful man in the world” was treated, and how the trip ended with Biden contracting COVID-19.

Compare this with the diplomacy now being carried out by Putin and Lavrov in Southwest Asia and Africa. Look at recent statements made by Glazyev on what policy the nation of Russia must employ in Africa. Now, look again at the Russian Defense Minister Shoigu, yesterday signing the agreement to allow Ukrainian vessels, without Russian escorts, without demining of the waters, to take responsibility for transshipment of the grain. Is Russia “losing the war,” as the State Department and Anglo-American intelligence agencies claim?

For a moment, consider: What is NATO member Turkey doing? True, looked at geopolitically, it might appear to be “obvious.” But consider. Turkey has nuclear power plants being built with the assistance of Russia (Rosatom). Turkey plays a decisive role in whether Sweden and Finland will join NATO. What about its historic relationship to Russia? Remember how President John F. Kennedy had to agree to remove the Atlas missiles from Turkey, which he did six months after the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962? Remember that the Russian ambassador to Turkey was assassinated at an art exhibit in 2016 in Ankara? Turkey’s leader, Erdogan, is “many things,” as is said in the intelligence business. But in the last weeks, he has played a central role in the negotiations, not between Russia and Ukraine, but between Russia and NATO, which means Russia and the United States as well. And these negotiations have opened a flank, for which the Schiller institute had already deployed.

One thing is for certain. Now that that flank in the mind of the adversary has been opened, through a breach in the sanctions in the Istanbul agreement, the arc of the moral universe which bends toward justice, can, if followed, bend even this adversary to the will of humanity’s durable survival. That can best be done by a focused, energetic, “Henry V”-like concentration on the idea: widen the breach! Lift the immoral sanctions on Russia, and all other countries, now!!
