The Biden Administration announced another $400 million weapons package for Ukraine yesterday. The package includes four more HIMARS rocket launchers—for a total of 12 so far—along with additional rocket ammunition, more 155mm artillery ammunition—a senior defense official who previewed the package for reporters at the Pentagon said this would be 1,000 rounds of precision guided shells—demolition munitions, counter-battery systems, and spare parts and other equipment, according to a Pentagon press release. “The United States has now committed $2.2 billion of security assistance to Ukraine in the last three weeks as we support their fight to defend their democracy,” the release declares, ignoring the reality that the so-called “democracy” has outlawed every opposition party and is prosecuting opposition leaders.
The Russian embassy issued a statement on its Facebook page on July 8, denouncing the latest U.S. arms package as a continuation of the effort to drag out the war. “We paid attention to the Pentagon’s statement about the upcoming shipment of four more HIMARS to Ukraine.
“Behind this decision is Washington’s unrestrained desire to prolong the conflict at all costs, to compensate through sending weapons the increasing losses of national battalions and Ukrainian Armed Forces .
“The thesis of high-ranking US officials that PVN is used by Ukrainians for defense purposes is insufficient. Kiev authorities and nationalist groups use weapons from the United States to destroy the cities of Donbass.
“Ukrainian Armed Forces constantly strike targeted strikes on residential neighborhoods of Donetsk. Shelling is carried out by NATO 155 mm caliber shells. Every day in different areas of the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic, where there are no Russian soldiers even close, civilians die. The other day, a ten-year-old girl Veronica Badina died during a walk right in front of her house. In Donbass, more than 150 children were killed at the hands of Nazis in eight years.
“The goal of the Russian Federation is to put an end to the terror of the Kiev regime.
“Washington does not bring the world closer with its actions, but on the contrary, pushes Ukrainian authorities to commit new bloody crimes,” it concluded its statement with a red exclamation mark.
