A small handful of greenies glued themselves to Boticelli’s famous painting “Primavera” in a Florence art museum in the latest climate protest against beauty and people.

The group, Ultima Generazione, said on twitter that the Boticelli painting was targeted because it was painted “with a finesse of detail that borders on the encyclopedic – more than 500 botanical species that bloom precisely in the months of spring…. This is a reality that we are in danger of losing.” Further they said, “Is it possible to see a spring as beautiful as this today? Fires, food crises and drought make it increasingly difficult.” (You also don’t see such a beautiful springtime in a desert, unless human beings bring water.)

No harm was done to the painting, which had previously been surrounded in security glass. Sources have been unable to verify whether the protesters used “crazy” glue in their act of disobedience.
