Is the U.S. encouraging the Kiev regime to bomb Russian infrastructure? During a background briefing at the Pentagon yesterday, an unnamed senior defense official refused to exclude the Kerch Strait Bridge between Russia and Crimea as a target for long-range strike weapons being supplied by the U.S. “I can’t tell you specific — anything about specific targets but Russian forces’ capabilities and logistics nodes within Ukraine are absolutely fair targets,” the briefer said in reply to a reporter’s question. When the reporter asked again if the bridge would be precluded, the briefer replied: “As I said, there aren’t any preclusions that I’m aware of about the Ukrainians fighting on their sovereign territory against Russia.”
The day before, former NATO commander Gen. Philip Breedlove told The Times of London in an interview that “Kerch bridge is a legitimate target.”
