A push for a war economy is becoming stronger in Germany, with Green idiot, Vice Chancellor and Economics Minister Robert Habeck now demanding a change of priorities in energy triage, which could be summarized in the motto “Citizens Last.”

Speaking in Vienna, Austria, Habeck said that current European Union guidelines for energy emergencies prioritize protection of critical infrastructures and consumers, but not industry and the economy. This is meaningful in case of short-term and regional crises, “but this is not the scenario we have at the moment. We are dealing here possibly with a months-long interruption of gas supplies.''

Habeck has apparently adopted demands coming from industry. The chairman of the association of chemical industries, VCI, Christian Kullman, had told Süddeutsche Zeitung: “It does not help if households get gas but cannot pay for it.” Guaranteeing jobs and income is important for households and “for society comes before the complete safeguarding of private gas supplies.”

Former EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger, who now has a dozen corporate jobs, has also called for including private households in the triage and speaks about “war economy.” “Certainly, gas storage tanks won’t be full in autumn. We will go through an emergency management,” Oettinger said at a meeting of German and Austrian experts in Berlin July 8. It is better to have 18° C [64.4° F] and two pullovers at home than to shut down sectors of production, Oettinger said.
