In the Midst of War, a Rising Tide of Intelligence

This is the summer of falling regimes (Italy, Estonia, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka) and rising resistance (international solidarity among farm leaders in Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Portugal and the United States; the movement of Ibero-American and African nations toward China and away from the dollar.) While war continues to spread, so does the consciousness of its futility. As in the case of East Germany’s Erich Honecker in 1989, those in charge of imposing the despotic rule of law are often the most deluded about their own impending, self-chosen fate. Honecker lacked the sense of irony that could easily have informed him of the truth. Instead, his brittle, criminally inclined mind shouted that East Germany would go on for “another 1,000 years” a mere 30 days before he would be placed in the back of a police car and driven off the stage of history. Czech author Vaclav Havel wrote about “the power of the powerless,” but “the powerlessness of the powerful” to grasp a new, revolutionary idea whose time has come, is an even more essential idea to grasp.

The Ad Hoc Committee for a New Bretton Woods, “Operation Ibn Sina,” the World Land-Bridge, and the Program for Reconstruction and Development of Ukraine, are ideas which all have common root in the mind of economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche (1922-2019). Poet Percy Shelley (1792-1822) tells us: “Poets, according to the circumstances of the age and nation in which they appeared, were called, in the earlier epochs of the world, legislators, or prophets: a poet essentially comprises and unites both these characters. For he not only beholds intensely the present as it is, and discovers those laws according to which present things ought to be ordered, but he beholds the future in the present, and his thoughts are the germs of the flower and the fruit of latest time.” This was the “poetic” power of LaRouche’s economic forecasting method, a method that, as seen in his book Earth’s Next Fifty Years, utilized and advanced the ideas of such scientists as the great Vladimir Vernadsky. LaRouche’s “heavy ideas” are the only ideas that naturally fit the crisis of this moment.

The James Webb Space Telescope, and its first productions, are not commensurate with the puny world of today’s political, military, and cultural obsessions. In principle, the Webb telescope, by extending the human sensorium 13 billion light years-plus, has just re-envisioned all of humanity. It is a Promethean instrument, extending not merely the vision but the purpose of mankind. Every child in the world who sees these photos, or is told about them, has access to this truth.

This also means that, in the name of humanity, the accurate suspicion of Russian advisor Yulia Zhdanova regarding the re-appearance of the infamous “Generalplan Ost” policy of the Nazis in the midst of the “amiable” discussion of the Ukraine war, must not only be acknowledged, but answered and remedied. Zhdanova said: This is not the first time that provocative calls to reduce Russia’s population, including Generalplan Ost, come from Europe,

The Schiller Institute Draft Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of Ukraine, like the Webb telescope, is a “re-envisioning” incommensurate with all other proposals on the table–and therefore exactly what is most both necessary and possible. No veiled Malthusian-fascist “final solutions” to the “Russian problem” can be tolerated, especially as potentially emerging from Wall Street’s Latter-Day “American Liberty League.” Instead, “Establishing Ukraine as a hub between the eastern and western portions of Eurasia,” in part by re-establishing Ukraine’s pre-eminence in science through accessing the figure of Vladimir Vernadsky, inventor of the science of biogeochemistry, a scientific genius equally important to Russians, Ukrainians and the world, is a central feature of our work.

In a different but related case, LaRouche Independent Diane Sare’s successful qualification to run as an independent candidate for U.S. Senate in New York State has both exposed the incestuous collusion among the top of the “political class” there, and implicitly established how and why fraud in fact regularly occurrs in United States elections. Predictably, corrupt Democrats in that state, acting preemptively, seek to use evidence of fraud (exposed through the efforts of the Sare campaign and other independent candidates) against their Republican gubernatorial opponent, even as the real story—that both parties have knowingly engaged in an unprincipled arrangement to prevent independent candidates from ever succeeding to attain office in the state—will soon be brought to light.

Meanwhile, the woeful unpreparedness of United States cities to actually respond in the event of a thermonuclear attack became clear a few days ago when a “New York City Public Service Announcement” gave the advice to “get indoors, stay in the middle of the building away from windows, and await further instructions inside.” It turns out, that there are no figures any longer available from the Department of Defense on how many casualties the United States would sustain, were there to occur a thermonuclear attack! The National Security Archive released a new briefing book yesterday, which reports on attempts during the 1960s “to estimate” what civilian casualties would result from a nuclear war. NSA Archive Researcher William Burr writes. “A 1964 report to JFK approximated 134 million American and 140 million Soviet deaths from a theoretical superpower nuclear exchange.” That was out of a United States population of 192 million. By mere extrapolation, with no accounting for a greater loss of life due to improvements in weaponry and targeting, and a corresponding collapse in American infrastructure, over 200 million Americans would be dead either immediately or near immediately.

Only great ideas can successfully avert great catastrophes in a time like this. This is a time for the vision of poets, not the blindness of bureaucrats. This is the time for the vision of LaRouche’s Earth’s Next Fifty Years, to guide the establishment of the new financial, security and development architecture, without which civilization, and the Earth itself, might have little chance of surviving.
